MUSI 2120 History of Jazz Music TA (Spring 2016)

Responsible for holding 3 sections per week that covered musical, historic and analytical aspects of Jazz.  I also graded my labs papers and concert reports.

MUSI 3390 Introduction to Music and Computers TA (Fall 2015) Syllabus

Responsible for holding 3 sections per week that covered sound synthesis, acoustics, software such as Reaper and Max/MSP.  Once a week I held office hours where students could come and get small composition lessons.  I was also responsible for grading quizzes.

MUSI 2390/3390 Introduction to Music and Computers, Instructor (Summer 2015) Syllabus

The class met every day for about 2 weeks. During the class we covered basic synthesis techniques, electroacoustic music, composed electronic works and performed laptop ensemble music.  I also graded quizzes.

MUSI 4543 Computer Applications in Music TA (Spring 2015) Syllabus

Held 3 labs per week that covered basic sound synthesis principles and how to code them.  I also held office hours once a week where students could get help with whatever they material they wanted pertaining to the course.

MUSI 2350 Technosonics TA (Fall 2014) Syllabus

Held 3 labs per week that covered basic music composition, sound design and listening skills for non-music majors.  I also graded all of my labs composition assignments and concert reports and papers.  Once a week I held office hours where students could come and get small composition lessons.

MUSI 4543 Sound Studio: Producer as Composer TA (Spring 2014) Syllabus

Held 3 labs per week that covered golden ears training, listening and discussing studio techniques in pop-culture music and did small recording and producing assignments.  I also held office hours once a week where students could get help with whatever they material they wanted pertaining to the course and studio help.

MUSI 4535 Mobile Interactive Computer Ensemble TA (Spring 2013)

Lab was held once a week and covered Max/MSP programing for interactive music and basic sound synthesis.  Music that needed to be rehearsed more was also done in lab.  I also held office hours once a week where students could get help with whatever they material they wanted pertaining to the course.

MUSC 202 Theory 2 TA (Spring 2012)

Held 3 labs per week that covered basic aural skills and piano skills.  The time for each class was split between harmonic and melodic dictations and working on piano skills such as scales and rudimentary repertoire.  I also held office hours once a week where students could get help with whatever they material they wanted pertaining to the course.  I was also responsible for grading quizzes.

MUSC 109 Introduction to Experimental Music TA (Fall 2011)

In this class I was responsible for organizing group performances of avant-garde music, acting as an assistant to help students understand the music, conductor for various pieces and led several lectures.  I also performed a lot of Fluxus pieces to give the students the opportunity to not only see the piece performed but ask questions about learning the music and preparing the music.  I also held office hours once a week where students could get help with whatever they material they wanted pertaining to the course.  I was also responsible for grading quizzes.

MUC 1342 Introduction to Midi Technology, Instructor (Spring 2011) Syllabus

In this class I covered basic computer music concepts such as basic mixing in Garage Band, notation in Finale and how the technology behind basic midi works.  I also held office hours where students could get help and assisted more advanced students in learning deeper concepts regarding the software they were using.

MUC 2302 Electronic Music 2 TA (Spring 2011)

In this class I held office hours to help students learn algorithmic approaches to composing in Max/MSP.

MUS 3333 Sound Reinforcement TA (Fall 2010)

In this class I helped students with their assignments that involved using the concert hall and studio to record a variety of different sounds.

Note:

While at FIU I overlooked all of the concert recordings and audio mastering done by the undergraduate recording crew.  This involved maintaining live sound equipment and post production refinement of the recordings.
